Request a quoteOutdoor living is a big part of life in Pinellas County, and tile is a great way to extend your home's style onto the lanai, patio, front entry or pool area. It can blur the line between inside and out.

Lots of options outdoors
Porcelain can look like natural stone, marble or wood while standing up to the weather with very little upkeep. Porcelain pavers can even be laid on sand or gravel without grout. Mosaic, handmade and glass tile add color and personality to walls, steps and water features.
Choosing tile for Florida weather
Not every tile is made for outdoor use. Outside, you want a tile rated for exterior use with a slip-resistant surface, especially around a pool or anywhere that gets wet when it rains. We recommend shopping at a locally owned tile showroom, and we are happy to help you check your choices.
Built for sun, heat and storms
Outdoor tile in Florida heats up fast in the afternoon sun and cools quickly when a storm rolls through. That constant movement is why exterior installations need extra movement (expansion) joints. Water also has to drain away from the house and off the surface, so slope and drainage are planned before any tile goes down.
Questions about exterior tile
Is tile slippery around a pool?
It can be if you choose the wrong tile. For pool decks and wet areas, choose a tile rated for exterior use with a textured, slip-resistant surface.
Can you tile over my existing concrete patio?
Often, yes, if the slab is in good shape. We check for cracks, slope and drainage first.
